As an ex serviceman who has read a lot of war accounts I can assure you that this is one of the best I have read. There is no bravado just an honest story of a young soldiers feelings and fears in an awful battle field trying to do his duty.In addition to their physical wounds many suffered longterm mental anguish.
Vietnam is usually thought of as a forgotten, mistaken war.
I hope all those war protestors who mocked these brave service men and women when they returned home read this book and ask themselves if they are still proud of what they did.
