I am so sad that a TV show of such importance and pedagogical value has such a poor rating. It is SO ridiculous what all these so-called lifelong fans keep complaining about - political correctness, blackness, gayness, and other "boxes to be checked" by a TV show. Doctor Who has always been, and remained, a super-inclusive show, to the point of absolute silliness. It is about overcoming xenophobia and being curious about and respecting all living things. Have you actually watched this show before, and why did you watch it if you did? The new Who is completely on-brand. And news flash: there are people who are actually black and gay at the same time. Ncuti Gatwa is one of them. Its not some kind of an artificial inclusivity construct that doesn't exist in nature. I, as a straight white woman who doesn't care about representation on TV AT ALL, feel happy about all the people who do feel represented. Doctor Who is such a unique show in that sense. Let others' happiness feed you for a change. Why watch it at all if not to be consumed by the joy of being a uniquely ordinary human being? Try to find a tiny bit of love and empathy and playfulness and magic in you.
