For an anime with incredibly high ratings, I gave it a try. I was expecting a romance that could capture us emotionally, like her individuality and her struggles growing up deaf. Instead, it’s about a grown woman acting like a child and crushing on a random man she met on the train. By episode 2, she’s already declaring love. There is no buildup, and her love interest says, “Let me into your world”, after merely exchanging a few sentences. Their instant obsession with each other came out of nowhere because the writers did not give us any reason why.
I thought there may have been deeper reasons as to why she has never been in love before, only to be disappointed in the actual reason being she's just never come across someone hot enough.
The male lead remains shallow throughout the anime with no character development as well. All we know about him is that he is attractive and that he travels a lot. It is the same cliche where a shy kawaii girl is crushing on a popular guy, without exploring their connection in any meaningful way.
As for the other characters, they did not add much to the plot and lacked depth and substance, making it hard for me as the viewer to like them.
