This 2021 movie, titled "Prey," opened with a promising start, capturing my attention with its intriguing premise and setting an expectation for a captivating storyline to unfold. Initially, I found myself engaged and intrigued, anticipating that the plot would continue to evolve and layer as the film progressed. However, as time went on, my interest began to waver, and I felt that the narrative lost its initial momentum, ultimately becoming somewhat one-dimensional or flat. One particular aspect that left me puzzled was the mysterious appearance of a sniper character, a woman whose motivations were never fully explained and whose actions seemed inexplicably violent as she began shooting at the unsuspecting hikers. Her presence in the film raised many questions: Who was she? What was her backstory or reason for being there? Frustratingly, the movie offered no answers, and she met her demise without uttering a single word, leaving her entire character arc unresolved. In the end, the story concluded with only one hiker left remaining, standing alongside another survivor, leading me to ponder the events and character choices that led to this final scene.
