The entire movies screams "trying too hard." So much of the script was copied from the original, while adding random, irrelevant tidbits, seemingly trying (and failing) to make the moment funnier. The actors cast for Nani, Jumba, and Pleakley were a total miss. Disney either should have stuck to following the original, or changed it completely.
