This true story should have focused more on Dr. Shirley, with his genius and his courage, and less on Tony Lip. Unfortunately, it's told from the white person's point of view, and the African American gets the back seat (literally and figuratively). I'm glad the movie was made, but look forward to a remake with Dr. Shirley front and center.
