Fascinating narrative of seafaring exploration and history of the Pacific, centered on James Cook’s third and last voyage in the late 1700s. As someone who’s kicked around French Polynesia for a couple of decades, both on land and at sea, it connected so many cultural, historical and geographical dots for me. Wonderful. And I rarely read non-fiction.
