I will agree the portrayal of the LDS church is not the best with this family. But, my main problem is the brutality of the dog episodes. Seriously? Do you have to show it. I turned it off on the part where dear ol' dad was going to kill the dog because these boys didn't do their chores?! If they had to have this atrocity in the movie they could have just mentioned it and moved on. The murder was enough to keep it heinous. I may go back and go past that part, but if there is any other brutality against animals, then I'm done. I love the actors, which is why it saddens me.
