Don't expect perfection in the chemistry between Ferrel and Robbie because that's not how real love works. Real love is an intentional choice between two people who enjoy each other's company. This movie allows you to follow the personal and shared growth of two people who make that choice by coming to grips with the flaws within themselves and their past experiences. The movie is ultimately more of a 'Small' Bold Beautiful Journey. There are no big effects, intricate CGI or devastating drama. There is just an old Saturn sedan bringing two imperfect people together to offer them a choice to grow as individuals by accepting their past and to share life in loving partnership. It's a simple story and message that hit the mark. P.S. The car rental agency lady with the German accent is hilarious.
