If your going to do a modern film on Mons use corrected historical facts not the bloated British distortion from a century ago. German regimental histories have long disputed the slaughter inflicted by crack British rifle fire as a biased illusion to countr the facts. The Germans spent years training in combined arms warfare for a European war unlike the British who fought natives in their colonies and failed to prepare for a modern war.
The myth that the British were outnumbered at Mons wasn’t true. In fact combat forces were pretty equal on the field the Germans coordinated their attacks using combined arms and training to defeat the British and it was a defeat.
I liked corporal Jarvis he’s the single voice in the first episode to give a sense of how clueless British tactics and planning was at Mons .
I liked the captured German hussar Officer too he also gives a sense of just how unprepared the British are.
I can’t watch episodes 2 and 3 they just leave me flat.
