I agree with others that the Beth storyline has gone on too long. Wrap it up already. The Douglas character is a little boy, too young to play the part of an emotionally bullied child. The contrast between the old Thomas and this new Thomas is out of whack. The new Thomas is also, in my opinion, a poor actor. I'm not enthused about the actress playing Hope either. But she is growing on me. All in all I like the show, but this storyline has swallowed up the other characters. This is a soap opera. Not real life. Some people are reacting like these characters ARE real.
