I watched the first 2 episodes. This story is set in 1868. What's with the 21 Century Rap Music? How about traditional Irish music of the period? That was off-putting from the get go. As far as accents, Irish Americans like myself don't really have an ear to distinguish what passes for Dublin. We get the differences between Northern Irish and South/West accents.Educated Irish during that time wouldn't have had thick Dublin accents. They aped the posh British accents of the Protestant Accendancy. This program would have been better served if the "fenians" spoke to each other in the gaeilge and used subtitles. If the big reveal was that Arthur was gay, you can see that coming by a mile. The story is interesting. Always fun to see the stinking rich get their comeuppance. I will probably watch the whole series to see who comes out the winner in the family.

4.45 minutes all wrapped up in a neat package in the last 15 minutes of a 5 hour series. Good performances by all involved. Only one major plot point inconsistency- Parkchester and the Whitestone Bridge are in The Bronx, not England. Didn't recognize Lenny Henry at first. Aging is a bitch. Tim Pemberton at his creepy best. Richard Armitage needs to continue dying his hair and beard.

How dare they take one of Jane Austen's most beautifully nuanced novels and turn it into a comic book. It's one thing to break from cannon but it's entirely another to eschew the customs and etiquette of the Regency. One more aside from Dakota Johnson and I wanted to slap the silly grin off her face. Only redeeming actor was Richard E. Grant.

Coming of age in 1970 in NYC, The Godfather was the most talked about movie and book of my time. The Offer is a history lesson. Not only about the film but about La Cosa Nostra. Anyone living in New York at the time remembers the city sliding into a cesspool of crime and lawlessness that lasted more than a decade. The cast is all brilliant but Giovanni Ribisi takes the cake. The Gulf & Western execs were just as ruthless, corrupt, power hungry and amoral as the Mob. Al Ruddy, Puzo, Coppola and the cast of the Godfather had to sell their souls just to make art.
