This isn’t your typical “one-liner” action movie. There isn’t a good side vs bad side you follow a group of photographers as a neutral side.
You, the audience, get to be a neutral party (like the photographers) witnessing how people would respond in the case of a civil war breaking out.
The movie does a great job of leaving the viewer in the dark of why the war started, where they are, or any other context about the war because it’s not about the fighting in the war. It’s about the people.
The photographers make a journey up to Washington D.C. and on the way you get to see the different types of ways that cities and people respond to war. The cinematography was amazing and it was interesting to see the shots of what modern cities would look like after war broke out.
Overall I think this was a great movie, but a lot of people didn’t like it because the trailer made it seem like it was going to be a typical action-packed Hollywood movie.
