Midnight Asia, with its exquisite after-dark neon cityscapes, its whimsical vignettes of twinkling alleyways with secret haunts and its personal insights, is a must see if you're into things transformative, wondrously beautiful, almost transcendental, and on top of that highly entertaining. It portrays the nightlife of highly populace Asian cities in a way I've never experienced before. People who normally lead a hum drum workday existence metamorphose after dark into their true selves and live out their fantasies or just join other night beings to indulge their dreams. Like the inspiring and delightful 85 year-old lady cook by day who becomes a club DJ at night. The music is sublime and the dialogues almost lyrical. This series has a dreamlike, otherworldly feel to it and made me sometimes think I was dreaming it all only to wake and realize these fantastical places were real. It's an auditory and visual feast, a delicious serving of riveting personal stories and a truly tasty platter of visual poetry that will keep you hungry for the next season
