Background checks are only effective as the accuracy of the information entered. However; privacy rights, especially our medical history, must be protected. That's why we have HIPPA. Medical records have been sold, used to ostracize people, as intimidation and used as blackmail. Extended checks will violate our constitutional rights. Our freedoms are being taken away for a modicum of supposed safety. Red flag laws are feckless. You are guilty until you can prove otherwise. Just an accusation is all that is needed. No proof from the accuser is required. The accused must provide evidence to the contrary. What happens if you go before an activist Judge? Abuses are being committed daily. This law is being used as a pretext to confiscate guns and to disarm the people. You don't punish people or negate their rights until they commit an unlawful act. President Trump has been accused of being mentally incompetent, a danger to himself and the nation, unfit for the office and a threat. Not only by Democrats and a certain portion of the nation, also by supposed experts. According to the Red flag law he is to be denied being able to purchase a gun. If he had a gun it's supposed to be confiscated. Why didn't Walmart have armed security? Why were none of the citizens armed? Same goes for Ohio. Why no armed security or citizens? The festival in California had a no guns or weapons allowed zone. A fact proven time an again only a good guy with a gun can stop a bad guy with a gun. The fastest way to a police state and a dictatorship is to disarm the population and have laws in place that allow for it to happen.
