I absolutely love the original film, probably watching it at least once a year. I also really was looking forward to this sequel. It’s ok, but nowhere near This is Spinal Tap for cleverness and fresh jokes. The first third of it is a slog. The cameos are fun, especially David’s annoyance with Paul McCartney’s input, and the end was funny. At the end of the day we’re left with no new lasting jokes like , “These go to eleven.” I wanted to love it, but I doubt I’ll watch it again.
