It’s a superior reimagining of “Frankenstein”, subbing the amoral Dr.Frankenstein with vicaria, a young smart black girl that has seen too many deaths in her life with moral intentions. This creates a more compelling story of loss, grief and child-like hope and the importance of hope with in marginalized communities.
I’ve cried multiple times watching this movie, remembering the griefs over my own loved ones through vicarias experiences.
