Reviews are inaccurate and I greatly fear what's become of America's ability to identify a good movie. Nope is reminiscent of all the quirky horror films from the 80s & 90s Stephen King, M Night Shamalama, all those guys. It's a genre that's been missing from the movie realm for far too long replaced by psychopathic children's films and an extreme overabundance of superhero garbage. The monster in this film is magnificent and horrifying (my favorite combo and reminds me of the movie "annialation"). I absolutely love the silliness of how the monster is always "too close for comfort" .... A nice allegory to the surveillance state we live in. Keke Palmer is fun to watch at any time for any reason. She's fun, energetic, but still very strong with her emotions. Really just a good film overall, something I could see myself re-watching a few times if aired on the sci-fi channel.
