This book was a masterpiece. (spoilers) the part where the mother tree got eaten was so heartbreaking I cried for an hour. The emotional timing and pace among Brian Selznick's coming of age novels are just BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 5/5
