This is a terrific contemporary jazz++ album, hold together by an amazingly alert drummer, leader an composer. The music is engaging, flowing with great beats and purpose. Don’t be afraid by the curious title - nothing academic, neo whatever here. Just a pure and blessed mix of jazz, african and other influences. A balm to my and possibly to your soul. This kind of music is a very crowded place these days. This album happily and admirably sticks out and invites repeated listening.
