Dad was Ltjg on a Liberty in N Atlantic WWII convoys. I was Ltjg in the Amphibs, ‘Nam. I enjoy watching modern war flicks for little anomalies, like on the Greyhound the call to GQ is “AHOOGA,” which was our “Cease fire, whereas our GQ was “BONGBONGBONG…” Ok movie but I admired “Navy Log” and the Good Shepard book as being more attuned to the true song of the sea.
