K so if you read all the other reviews you’ll understand why this movie was nothing short of a disaster. The songs were comparable to the annoying songs on Kiss Fm. I couldn’t pay any attention to the characters because they were all just idiots and added nothing to the story. Basically I rate it ⭐️⭐️ because it’s not one star, it’s not TERRIBLE, just extremely bland and over-hyped to attract the attention of the nearest 5 year old.

Ok so I know this is a kids movie, but I was excited when I wanted this with my younger siblings for a fun movie night. It started and almost ended super well, and I was pleasantly surprised! There was moment in the climax where the main character needed to bring Dark back because the world needed him; but then, Hippopotamus or whatever her name was used her magic wish-apon-a-star mEnTaLiTy and saved the day. This rubbed me the wrong way. This character had something close to 2 minutes of screen time and I felt she was only there for the classic “I’m going to tell you a story kid, and it might change your perspective” trope in movies. You can’t just make her save the day with no hint or warning. She just appears because she’s not like the other girls she’s a main character 😑. It had so much potential and even my little siblings who thought Wish was good hated this ending. You’re not creating some unpredictable twist in a kids movie Netflix, your being annoying.

I just want to say, I could have written a long crazy review, but I only want to say a few things: -listen to the original broadway soundtrack -jingle bell rock was disappointing -acting was pretty good -singing was pretty good -jokes were censored -clothing was not -sad cut songs -pacing= good. Felt much shorted than 2 hours 💛💛💛🖤🖤
