I had mixed feelings about the Tamil movie Meiyazhagan. Some parts were interesting, but overall, the movie felt too long and slow. It seemed like the director was trying very hard to make us feel emotional, but it didn’t always feel natural.
The beginning and end of the movie didn’t seem to connect well with the main story. The main character didn’t have a clear purpose, which made it hard to understand his journey. At the start, we see that the young character is very attached to his village, but we don’t really know why. Later, the family has to leave the village due to a property dispute, and they move to Chennai. However, the movie doesn’t explain clearly what happened or why they had to leave. Because of this, it’s hard to know if we should feel sad for what happened to them or not.
Also, the movie tries to make us feel emotional about small things, like a bicycle and some happy summer memories. These parts didn’t feel very realistic, and I think they could have been shown in a simpler way. Overall, what could have been just a short, touching part of the story was stretched out, making the whole movie feel less enjoyable and a bit confusing
