Pretty schematic ‘suspense.’ Four or five candidates for a pope. Each eliminated one by one after the cardinals discover some compromising ‘secrets.’ And then an unexpected one wins. Just so we can discover at the very end, he, too, has some secrets. But the cinematography is good and Ralph Fiennes in the main role is superb.
