It's very different to their earlier albums. It's very hard hitting and there isn't much melody. However it works very well and I found it doing something different to me and being a new listening experience, one which I enjoyed and even benefitted from. It's class really. A solid album. I'd like Red to return someday to their earlier sound of very memorable and melodic riffs and choruses but I like the direction they've gone in lately. If you like the old stuff, War We Made is definitely right up their with their very best.
