I’m here to balance the scales on these reviews. I usually don’t care what the public thinks about games but this time it’s different. People are leaving 1 star reviews for emotional reasons. They didn’t get the story that they wanted, “the creators betrayed my feelings” - seems to be the theme. The story is harsh, gripping, heartbreaking, confused, and unpredictable. All of which, to me, speaks what a post apocalyptic world would feel like. If you loved the first game, you’ve got to play this one, simple as that. But it’s no walk in the park. If you just want a fun happy adventure, play ratchet and clank. If you’re in for a real and emotional ride, this is it. Survival fans look no further. Satisfying and rewarding gameplay, crafting, exploration, strategy and combat.
PS. Another thing I have to note that I love when developers get right - a balanced high-difficulty setting. The hard modes aren’t just stupidly unfair, they’re a great challenge and I never feel cheated by poorly scaled game mechanics.
