The importance of this show being produced/streamed trumps the lack of character development. I love Marco/Miss Benny - I hope I see more of them in the future! The relationship between Marco and Julia is so lovely. I appreciate the lack of awkardness that has loomed over so many LGBTQIA storylines in movies. In Glamorous it's just a pure parent-child relationship. I don't love the direction of Venetia and Britt. Venetia deserves to shine! She does need some refining but I think Britt's too harsh. Britt's sensitivity about Venetia's feedback on is over the top. There should be no soft blows at work just because of a relationship. On the other hand, the character development of Chad's character is so thoughtful and well-directed. The timeline also moves very quickly at points where it shouldn't and vice versa. Like the relationship with Parker! That escalated quickly. Madolyn's evolution is too slow. If she was already going to a mall to do some espionage, then she's in the middle of wanting change. I think with some tweaks, this show can really shine and be a favorite but it is trying to cram too much in there.
