I had the pleasure to meet 1SG King. I was a 92S Shower, Laundry, and Clothing Repair Specialist attached to 1/67 Armored Battalion, Furry Company. 1SG King was not my direct 1SG but, I will always remember the times he came and picked up his laundry with the rest of the command group. He will always be remembered to me as Leader that walked into a room and gave respect and showed it through his leadership. We as a Squad a group of men and women from a different unit he took care of our basic needs and then some. I remember leaving in October 06 from a place known as Iskandariyah Iraq. That same day he was killed. It saddens me knowing I was on my way to my home and he never made it back to his home. Sacrificing it all. I will have to say this movie helps depict his life. It gives me pleasure knowing his memory will live on for future leaders to know his story.
