After much doubt, it turns out, I loved this movie. So much so, I’ve watched it multiple times. The acting is soulful and REAL. The Directing and editing is on point. As is the soundtrack. The portrayals are accurate and it’s also extremely engaging and sexy (Justin and Blake chemistry + acting).
I’ve read the hater’s reviews. Let ‘em’ slide. Yes, it can be absolutely an accurate representation of domestic violence. What’s beautiful about this rendition, is that this is a story about a woman that didn’t become co-dependent, she knew when to get out. Watching her Mother beaten for years served as her reminder of what could be.
I think this will become a classic. Not to be washed away with all the other garbage being churned out.
Too bad the drama and litigation might taint it.
