This reader got Lost multiple times as Hogan switched characters ... more chapter subtitles/dates would have been very helpful. I would have had better footing to follow the dual storylines if she had introduced the character names, relationships, and timelines earlier in each chapter.
However, I enjoyed the story, the well written, often delightful, descriptions, both the delicacy and tongue in cheek reality of loss and societies' fringe personalities and chuckled frequently at the generous British slang.
It's a gentle story for those who enjoy a lovely stroll through the little things of life that season the soup and in the end bring satisfaction of clarity.
