Great depiction of what can only be imagined Diana was going through in her time as Princess. Stepping into the public eye, especially as a royal, is no easy feat and definitely comes with it's trials and tribulations, especially seeing how the royal family truly thinks, feels, and treats one another, even to this day, I can only imagine Diana truly felt trapped. However, I cannot get past Kristen Stewart being Kristen Stewart in her acting style, expressions, and mannerisms. You can fancy her up in all the dressings and trimmings, give her a great supporting cast but, her accent is noticeably unreal(obviously) and I really tried to look past her acting style and see only her efforts to portray Diana but I couldn't. She literally kept pulling my attention back to her being typical Kristen; jaw movements, mouth acting, shoulder and head movements, sighing breaths, and her shoulder hunch.
Overall though, the story is great and well written. Again, I cannot speak on how Diana felt, who she was inside in private but, we all know what pressure, betrayal, turmoil, and belittling of our feelings feels like and knowing her situations I can only imagine she felt a lot like how she was portrayed which is utterly heartbreaking. They wrote her mentality, her health, her anger, her fear, depression,
and desperation beautifully. The scenery, visuals, costumes, and music all came together nicely to show the evolution of her breakdown. Great movie overall, aside from Kristen's inability to really put herself aside and truly become someone else.
