very bad book. there
There was lots of unnecessary detail for minor characters that are only mentioned once, such as full names, family relationships, and occupation, but I was left with a lot of questions at the end of the book that weren’t answered. We never find out what caused the apocalypse, or what is going on in the rest of the world. Because of his abrupt demise, we never find out what was motivating Scott, what his history was, or why he showed up in the community in the first place. The characters never felt fully formed, the action never fully picked up, and the climactic scene felt rushed and uninspiring.
No answers, no reasons, no character development - just random action told to us by a boring narrator. It's a shame because I was really looking forward to this book. The premise was so strong it could have been incredible.
