I have watched many old movies,but Parakh stands out in terms of its sheer simplicity,honesty towards its message and its raw characters who are more relatable than even people of ur own village !! The satire on values and social inequality in the backdrop of a small village is marvellous!! Released in 1960....this one is progressive and way ahead of its times ! Be it the dialogues or the way it showcases the real Cause of the problems it addresses !! Its all raw and true !! How the story revolves around 6 principal characters just like how society revolves around people holding main positions !! Sadhana ji looked totally convincing and perfect in her role...she is superb !! The names of the characters and the dialogues of this underrated Bimal Roy classic are so distinct and appealing in terms of their creativity . All actors are perfect for their characters And the story is one of its kind I have lost the count as to how many times I have watched this movie

Hrishikesh Mukherjee is written all over the film..master of storytelling The songs are mind blowing.. This was the era when songs helped characters to Convey story, and take movie forward.. just as dialogues Superb acting by dev sahab,sadhna was so natural in her character,and also outstanding performance by sandhya roy.. she was highlight in every scene..as sister.. My fav scene is between dev anand and the stranger man at the billiards table.. It conveys powerfull messages in very effective way !! Watch this classic B&W film The contrast between rich and poor is conveyed beautifully.. It has repeat value to it..

Omg !!! India's own desi superhero And when i say desi ..minnal murali is really based in a small village of kerala and is totally real when it comes to daily life of a superhero !! Its like nobody else outside that village knows what is happening there and same goes for people who are experiencing it as they are unaware of any heroic references or even any world outside theirs !! Which is executed so well ! I just loved the way it never tries to portray extraordinary stunts or larger than life instances...and that is the USP of this one . It can totally convince u that u r part of this journey !! The screenplay is so smooth and engaging .

I dont know why i did not watch it earlier.!!!! I mean its a wow movie,or rather i would call it a ''detox'' movie for everyone who wants a break from routine in life. Truly it inspires you to live a life worth it.

This film is really entertaining. Dharmendraji perfomed naturally,he looked so adorable and tanuja mam was also perfect in all scenes . Both looked awesome together in this one !! Other actors also complemented each other. The story is unique and well written along with good songs and action scenes which take it forward !! Suspense was built up till the last scene . The main attraction of this movie are all the theft scenes in it... They are gripping and well Executed. Overall loved this film 👍.

Hrishida's beautiful adaptation of sharatda's novel...a heart touching story which is simple but so relevant to indian society even today. Meena kumari ji's masterclass performance is the highlight along with the story of this film. Humanity of hemangini devi's character is what is so necessary and yet a matter of contradiction in our society!! Meenaji's eyes spoke volumes..she had superb screen presence and dialogue delivery. The pain, helplessness, innocence and hard hitting fact that how ur relations could make u helpless to the extent of suppressing the voice of ur soul,ur beliefs and even ignoring the wrongdeeds of ur own people!! These things were true enough to get this movie a oscar nomination..this masterpiece deserved even more than that. 🙏🙏

Oh my gosh!! What an epic masterpiece this film turned out to be.I was literally scratching my head. Every scene raises a question and the ending was superb and really well potrayed. Overall a great sci fi film after Inception. I really liked quantuum physics game here.

Many may think the plot is unrealistic But the idea behind that plot is conveyed so beautifully that it should not bother u. Superb acting by waheedaji There is a haunting quality in this movie!! Songs are mind blowing And it will make u think about various things!! Human Psychology this topic makes this movie ahead of its time .. and classic !! The title is so apt for this film.

Best movie ever that doesnt shout for slogans but conveys the strong message of patriotism and sometimes without even saying any dialogue.And not just it but raw picture of indian vilages and the challenges at grass root level. It is a classic movie .I loved srk and kaveri amma and every actor in this movie. The music is awesome and moving and especially the theme song. Swades will definitely move you .

Such a beautiful movie It is not a normal romantic drama It has got that rare connect which you will feel from the strong storytelling and amazing cast. It strikes the right chord with innocence, emotions and romance. There is nothing unnecessary here It is not sad but it is satirical. The message is deep and beyond words. Please watch it . A timeless classic Coz they dont make such films anymore
