This movie was set up SO well and then turned incredibly campy and predictable about halfway through. They incorporated elements that then weren’t followed through on. It felt as if the production team couldn’t choose which direction they wanted to take the movie for what Stephen King, himself, claimed to have been his scariest and most unsettling novel. The film felt disrespectful to him as an author. If the movie had the same approach taken with It, making a second movie to follow through on all the ideas brought into the first one, there may have been potential for redemption. Shame it had to force everything into 2 LONG hours.
