Strange that he chooses Putin for a fictional novel. He depicts Russia (now world’s 4th largest economy) as weak both economically and militarily, which is truly fictional. He also depicts Putin as being extremely unpopular in Russia (He has an 87% approval rating, higher than any other leader in the world). Bell’s characters and scenarios are so over the top, that it’s like James Bond for 8th graders. So if you’re into pure fiction, maybe this is the book for you. It’s actually so ridiculous, that it’s a comedy

Kyle Mills is obviously a Democrat ideologue, with no military background. In the book he repeatedly tries to blame the problems of Afghanistan on Donald Trump, even after the disastrous debacle of our infamous pull out under Joe Biden. He does so subtly, without using names, but the obvious inference is there. Remember, in the last two years of Trump‘s first presidency, there were no American losses in Afghanistan. Then you have his explanation of the political situation in Syria, while downplaying the involvement of the United States. And now (late 2024)we see where a terrorist with a $10 million bounty on his head only months ago, has been put into the position of leader of the country by the Biden administration. And of course, according to Mills, we find that it’s not the Arabs Who are the bad guys, it’s the Russians. He could’ve simply just written a good Mitch Rapp novel, without pressing his twisted political views into the equation. He writes this book in 2022, and portrays the Russians as a bunch of evil bumbling idiots. By 2024 the Russians now have the fourth largest economy in the world(despite draconian sanctions by the West), and have proven in Ukraine that their weapons technology and their military is comparable, or even surpasses in some cases, that of their NATO counterparts
