Good but not great submarine movie. Highly technical as regards sonic identification of underwater vessels and artifacts, which may have obscured some details since the dialogue is in French. Characters likeable enough but not well developed. Better than average Covid-19 fare.

This isn't a great movie, but given the poor fare being generably available on Netflix and others, and reflecting on this movie a week after viewing it, my opinion is that in spite of its shortcomings this is better than the average fare and worth a look. The acting carries the plot along but is not otherwise noteworthy. Nevertheless, the idea behind the film is interesting and thought provoking and that saves it. The action jerks along in 9 year episodes that bring things together at the end with some hints provided earlier. While I doubt it was the intent of the film, it borders on allegorical given the current state of things. Recommended with an open mind.
