Self consciously clever and over the top "intense" in a contrived fashion. The story line and dialogue need to be dialed down a bit to make it more plausible. The characters are quickly becoming annoying. Keri Russell's character likes to throw F-bombs a lot, and this is supposed to make her sound tough.
