If this were an Adult Swim show, then it would have less audience outrage. It would have at least prepared audiences better to have the Scooby characters deliver dirty jokes. Idgaf about the race change thing. I’m Asian and recognize that fictional characters from older IP go through many iterations. There are some good jokes here and there, but I can’t stop feeling like some HBO execs really pushed for it to be more like Harley Quinn. The gay feelings between Velma and Daphne feels so forced, and Daphne’s hair and face is essentially Poison Ivy. I’m gay and am always cool with visibility, but this just feels exploitative.
