From the title I went in expecting something lighthearted or funny. What I got was a story that delivered on the themes of suburban life and what happens when a true monster makes their nest in a community. I won't say parts of the book didn't make me grit my teeth at how dark they were. Or how the way the men treated their wives after they got a taste of success and before that made me wanna throw hands. All these things however made the book feel that much more real. They were just a bunch of bored housewives reading about crime they were mothers and daughters and felt like real people. By the end of the book I was waiting edge of my seat and it all paid off. Each word and sentence truly sends you reeling but in the end I don't regret reading this book at all.

A nice paced book that really makes you feel as if you're experiencing everything with the main characters. The relationship between Lily and Kath is slow and sweet and each moment with them feels like a lifetime.

Found myself a little disappointed with this book. For a thriller/crime novel it felt like there were no true stakes or tension until the very end of the book.

When you start reading it's slow, soon enough you'll find yourself falling down the rabbit hole questioning everything until you get to the other side and find all the answers. A Gothic modern fairytale I will be recommending to everyone I know.
