The Conjuring: Last Rites Has to be one of the most disappointing films I’ve seen in a long time. I am a huge horror fan and I enjoy the conjuring series (mainly the first two). This film has multiple plot holes, went in multiple different directions and really just didn’t make any sense. I am usually easy to scare but even watching this on the big screen, I was bored. It’s unfortunate that this is to be the last film in the series and it was by far the worst. Very predictable, CGI looked silly, storyline was all over the place.

Great Halloween movie! I hope they come back with a second one. It’s got a fun ghost story vibe and it’s actually got some really good scares, especially for a film catered to a younger audience. The acting from a couple of the main characters is a little cheesy but still very loveable.

SPOILERS ahead!! Confused by all the negative reviews. I watch a lot of horror films and there are some terrible ones out there, but this instalment of the Halloween franchise was actually very good. I enjoyed it a lot more than the last couple. It’s unfortunate that Allison and Corey become such unlikeable characters after what they’ve been through, but it’s understandable that people with such trauma would act in such a toxic way. As much as I wanted Corey to be the good guy, it was interesting to see him almost follow in Michaels footsteps. Was it because Corey was already evil, or maybe Michael possessed him in someway down in the sewer? We don’t get an answer to a few things in this film but I think that’s better. I like that they left some things for us to question. As for Michaels death, I think Laurie killing him maskless as he is just a man was a very satisfying ending. We see Michael torture Laurie for decades, but this shows us that underneath he is just a man in a mask that can be killed in such ways. I think maybe people were hoping for a more intense ending to the franchise, but I am happy Michael died the way he did. I would like to point out that there is a very heavy strobe lighting scene with no warning that appears at the Halloween party in this film. For my fellow epileptics, be aware of this!

SPOILERS AHEAD. This was one of the worst films I have seen in a long time. The script, plot and performances were very cheesy. It was your overly done best friends get lost somewhere after going on some adventure after a tragedy. Then one friend finds out the other one betrayed them (usually with a love interest), but they're stuck/lost so they can't really stay mad about it and so on. They ripped off Adrift and other films with the friend actually being dead and all being in her head helping her survive thing. Not one part of this movie kept me excited or interested. I think this film will only thrill you if you have an intense fear of heights. I've read some reviews saying strong acting?? Where? The main character was definitely great for the emotional scenes but the supporting actress made me feel as if the entire thing was a play.

Some spoilers* Not a bad movie, just a boring one. I was extremely excited to see Jordan Peele’s latest film after ‘Get Out’ and ‘Us’, but I found ‘Nope’ to be boring and disappointing. I’m sure there was some deeper meaning I didn’t grasp, but I was waiting for it to end just after half way through. It wasn’t the least bit scary or even very thrilling. The creature seemed silly. The connection between Gordie and the rest of the film didn’t make much sense to me. Honestly the scariest and most exciting scene is where the kids prank them pretending to be aliens, I woulda watched that movie.

It was okay. It wasn’t good and it wasn’t bad in my opinion. The first half of the film was way too dragged out and started to get boring. The film felt a little suspenseful for about 30 minutes after Finn was taken and Ethan Hawke does a great job, but it got boring again. We rarely even get to see Ethan Hawke. It’s mainly just the boy alone in the basement trying to figure out how to get out. It just drags on. The trailer made it seem like it would be a scary or horror film, but it was barely suspenseful. It was more suited to a slightly younger audience maybe (aside from the violence). I was expecting a lot more based on the trailer and Hawkes reputation. All in all it was fine, but it had so much more potential and just fell flat for me.

Incredible film! I cannot for the life of me understand how this has so many bad reviews on Google? This film is phenomenal. The cast is wonderful but I have to give the most props to Jenna Ortega. She’s a wonderful horror actress, a true scream queen! The camera work and editing is very impressive! The whole style of the film is just plain cool. This film is erotic, a little camp, gory and thrilling. I 100% recommended

It was a great film with an even greater cast. Theres no way you can go into a film starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Jesse Plemmons, and Kirsten Dunst and not enjoy it at least a little. Kodi Smith McPhee is an actor I've not seen before but he was wonderful to watch. I did find the film a little too slow, but it was still good
