The only plus= Pretty scenery where it looks like most the budget went into. Looks like Middle-Earth, good job! The bad= everything else! When you have a Hollywood full of Narcissists; it's no wonder this writing/directing style and dialog gets a pass! The narcissists writer projects themselves into the main protagonist: Where everything is easy for them and a struggle for everyone else. Where they can scale walls, defeat monsters, solve puzzles, knows where all the danger is, and conquer the elements and everyone else are weak, bungling fools all around them. Since they think their audience is a bunch or morons, when in reality they are once again just projecting: We get silly spoon fed dialog when the scene itself says the same thing with our eyes, short cuts to the plot that makes no sense and other dumb dialog moments that were meant to have some deep meaning but in reality is totally vapid and taking up screen time! This is so damn old and tiresome and so CW quality too. In the end, it makes the lead(s) in the branching story arcs annoying, arrogant, condescending and "know-it-alls" that most viewers would rather see die in a want-to-be epic, rather than be strung along to further torture us to the bitter end! People that think this main protagonist is so great and awesome need to look at themselves in a mirror! (Opps, not possible for this ever growing genre of humanity in our world now!!!!) Looks like ill be giving yet another beloved piece of entertainment culture a RIP in this life. C'est la vie!

Wow, so many folks think this is good Trek:( Sorry folks, this is some bizarre Alternate Universe Trek yet once again! Episode 1: Every scene; and I mean Every scene had a element within that blatantly violated cannon/lore and in some cases, destroyed cannon in some way. Uhura is played by another Tilly character; same person different skin color and a poor replacement for the former Actor's in the Uhura role. (Mark my words, there will be some silly plot element that will have her in "The Chair" before this season ends!) In Episode 2, it is heavily focused on her, even though most the senior officers are present during a social Captain's dinner and the silly writers only focus on Uhura alone wasting precious opportunities to get to know some of the other new crew members. Worse "This Cadet" is allowed on the away party to investigate this alien comet/structure leaving more qualified people on-board. Even worse still; Spock, the 1000th level grand Master of puzzle solving is relegated to having his preverbal thumb up his, "you know what" and providing the most adolescent and silly morale boosting chit chat I have ever heard on any TV show in my life. And this came from the mouth of all people, Spock; really?????? The nightmare continues... More ridiculous plot elements that demonstrate abysmal writing quality indicative of the incompetent people in charge of this entire Star Trek franchise right now: Back in episode 1, we have a Starship in orbit around a newly discovered alien world with NO-ONE ABOARD! ONLY THREE PEOPLE were on-board to begin with and ALL of them beamed down to the planet!!!! This is clearly a scout class vessel which is essentially a Constitution class, USS Enterprise size saucer section with an attached single warp nacelle. Regardless of size, one would never leave a ship in orbit unmanned over a newly discovered world! Finally, Pike was giving me this uneasy feeling that he was going to be a softy Beta-Male and it was confirmed in Episode 2 with his statement when the protagonist Aliens were about to open fire on his ship. Disgraceful, not the Pike I knew and respected in The Cage and even the same in the awful STD which "WAS" the only character I liked. Not any more, he's gone now! The people that think this is considered "GOOD" Star Trek have lost their "Collective" minds and have been assimilated by Secret Hideout!

Season 1 was bad enough from my point of view. Totally diminished Picard in such a way, I can no longer watch him in next generation episodes any longer. Season 2, first episode: it's a monumental example of completely incompetent writing wrapped around a crew of exquisite craftsmen and artists making beautiful sets, uniforms and finally quality special effects. A plus; ships that finally show the best of what Star Trek can be. However, this sums up the moronic writing here perfectly: In a critical moment and in the ready room discussing their predicament, our now "4 star" Admiral Picard is asked what they should do? His answer; "I have no idea!" With a shocked and bewildered look on his face! Frankly, vomit inducing disgusting writing here! So many inconsistencies, more wasted time hearing useless dialog in equally useless scenes, plus silly plot elements in just this first episode alone; tells me what else is in store for our viewing pleasure, which I will not be doing any further by the way! And finally the coup de grace: this season will revolve around the silly and absurd politics of our time right now and "most probably" and naturally with a typical Hollywood bent, will not be flattering to anyone with even a middle of the row political leanings or for those bad ole bad right wingers"! This is another Star Trek hard pass for me. Thanks to current management, the Star Trek we all once loved and adored; "They're dead Jim"!

Forever a Star Trek fan, I wanted to give this series the benefit of the doubt. I suffered through season 1 with disappointment on how they mainly destroyed "cannon", and placing this silly protagonist character, (Name not worth mentioning here!) in the center of Spock's life and thereby destroying his cannon history in the process! Also, making her the "bestest ever" and great at everything, made we want to roll my eyes more than once. Star Trek used to be about the whole crew being great, each taking a lead role in doing something important. This Star Trek is written by Narcissists where they project themselves as the lead character; which is always great and the rest of the crew just tags along making the lead look great! That has been "mostly" the formula for 3 whole seasons now! I was more hopeful of season 2 when I saw who was going to be Captain Pike, (Anson Mount did a great job under the circumstances) but once again, became more disappointed on how they portrayed Spock. Then in season 3, watching the producers flush the Federation down the proverbial toilet over a silly premise called "The Burn"; something every savvy Star Trek fan knows is totally absurd because dilithium does not control Warp Drive on every race of star ships! For 3 seasons now, they keep making the same silly errors over and over and over again, destroying story cannon, science cannon; even the human stories are just so silly and lack maturity, only a child would "not" roll their eyes over all this touchy-feely nonsense they try and interject in most episodes. Being an X-Naval officer, I feel like it's the crew of the local McDonalds running this Starship and not people qualified to operate a real ship of the line. They make an Ensign the XO and everyone is happy about this; OMG in what Universe! Oh, wait, this silly one my friends........... In each of the past Star Trek series, I would judge it overall by how many "Good" episodes to the "Bad" because none were all great to be sure! But here, there are more "roll eyes" moments in this series than a binge weekend with the Jersey Shore! Most episodes are poor and most importantly, I will personally will never watch these again! That is not the case for me in other Star trek Series. At least in many but not all old Star Trek's, crew members would "think" of clever ways to get out of tough situations, but now with this poor writing crew; let's just have unarmed and under-weight females overpower armed athletic build males, that's believable right? NOT! They could of hired many qualified Star Trek Science advisors for the show like most of the other series in the past; I guess that salary was not in the budget! Or for that matter, past writers that made great episodes; they didn't! In summary, this show is just one continuous slap in the face to Star Trek history cannon; slap in the face to Star Trek science cannon, and ultimately a huge slap in the face to the future and disposition of humanity. Roddenberry used to say that in his Star Trek future, "humans evolved beyond their petty differences" or something to that effect. This series thus far shows that we have gone nowhere!

This show is written with the skills of teenagers for the pre-teen segment. Because that is the only demographic that would gloss over all the bad writing, plot holes, terrible action sequences and ill-conceived scenes throughout each and every episode. End of story. Star Wars= RIP!

This show had me riveted each and every episode, not wanting to stop watching it! The writers here did a wonderful job keeping up the suspense and intrigue all the way through. A little off from great because the English dubs/actors were not very good compared to the real actors. Let's face it, there is not a slew of experienced English dubbing actors out there; yet! But I think the quality will grow since frankly, foreign productions are gaining more exposure to American audiences because of huge quantity of poor quality American productions theses days!!! However, for me; the whole thing fell apart in the last 10 minutes of the entire series. I don't want to go into detail because it would ruin it for someone wanting to watch this. It's good enough to at least watch once but the last 3-4 events that happened at the end totally ruined it for me to see this ever again and that is too bad because there was so much done right throughout this entire production.

Excellent movie here, better than the original release for sure. I was late to watch because the 4 hours to dedicate but was engaged all the way through and glad it was released in this way versus a cut-up release for theatre viewing. Epics like this need to be viewed this way. I would like to see more from Snyder in the future with these characters and the actors that play them!

Edit after Season 3 episode 7: It's clear the experienced creatives that started this project are all on hiatus! It's now degenerated into "Silly and dumb"! So now I am done! This series was a great start of an idea and in the beginning, a decent example of competent writing and producing staff with excellent technical assistance for the science. But it's just an OK Sci-Fi series overall. The problem is it keeps going "off-the-rails," detracting from the core story and focusing way too much on the private/personal elements that most of the rest of the world has dealt with socially and throughout our last few decades. So it feels more like a typical terrestrial social drama and not what it should be focusing on: Exploring the unknown and the challenges thereof! Especially now in season 3 where the quality and professionalism is much to be desired now. And it's not realistic on the personal/professional aspects of the people needed for such a momentous endeavor. The competition does not get any harder nor the huge vetting process to weed out and only keep the best of the best to be part of a program like this. NASA has had a few "Issues" in the past but extremely rare. This feels more like normal corporate drama where vetting process is less precise. I am about to bail on this one sadly!

Just another piece of C.W. garbage. Disrespecting the Batman genre from beginning to end on every episode. I just stopped watching after a couple episodes this year!

I started out really liking it. It WAS a good premise to base a Sci-Fi series on. Then about half way through the episodes, it took a sad turn for the very worst of what Ridley Scott is well known for so, so many times in his past. Intellectually vapid stereotypes about religion, human nature, science and technology, the list goes on and on! Enough plot holes to sink a dozen Titanics. Then strange twists in the story that flatly make no sense at all but it's obvious by the positive reviews, it tickled the fancy of the simpleton "Ohh and Ahh" crowd. These strange twists to both the story and to the characters were thrown in for one basic reason; the writers went brain dead on where the heck to take this story and decided to make a mess with it and hope all this "conflict always sells" nonsense would stick to the proverbial wall of acceptance and get them to the end of the season! It's really getting old lately seeing one writer group after another flush the Sci-fi genre down the toilet of mass acceptance. It took decades to gain acceptance and appreciation of this genre to the masses. I lived through it all. Now it's taking a fraction of that time in just the last few years to push it all back into obscurity! So sad indeed!
