"Firestarter" is a fire that should have been put out before it even started. The movie goes nowhere, moves at a snail's pace and is lit up with some of the most wooden acting this side of a lumberyard. It's like watching paint dry, only less exciting. The only thing that burns hotter than the lackluster plot is the complete lack of chemistry between the lead actors. If you're looking for a movie that will make you fall asleep in under 10 minutes, "Firestarter" is your match. But if you're after a film with a bit of spark, steer clear of this dud.
