I'm not sure this is a good criticism but I still want to get this out there. I've never watch the Simpsons in my life but from what I'd heard, it's almost similar to Family Guy. So, I'd knew I wouldn't get the references in the play. However, I read this play to be involved with the Simpsons lives and see any character development in the weirdest ways possible. Yet, I'd had to wait till the third act to actually get that point. I get the theme of civilization adjusting to post apocalypse. However, adding the Simpsons into it and just talking and rehersing them is showing more marketing then love for the show. If I wanted about post apocalypse lives, I'd watch that. But I wanted the Simpsons. And when we got to the third act. Except for Bart and Mr.Burns, everyone is just there. And most don't act like the characters in the show, or have distinct personalities that make the iconic and interesting. The third act could have been the whole play but decided to add other elements. If you enjoy, then good for you, enjoy what you love. But if you want to watch rhe Simpsons in their lives and get invested in the characters, then you have to sit through a play you don't care to see. Or you did got invested in the plot, and feel a little bumbared with the change of plot.
