I think the Australian actor playing Lestat gives the most hammy, gurning, embarrassing performance I have ever seen in my life. He simply cannot act but bizarrely doesn't seem aware of this fact. He could take a few lessons from the brilliant English actor playing Armand, Ben Daniels. He is pretty much the only redeeming feature in this whole sorry mess. Him and the lovely French mis en scene, especially the hand drawn cartoons seemingly interacting with the actors in the theatre des vampires The young American actress playing Claudia isn't a patch on Kirsten Dunst. It all seems so issues/agenda led that the original story is lost.
