I really enjoyed this. The occasionally avant guard music and humour kept it light (very refreshing for a WWII series or film) which reminded the viewer of the joy and fun that could still be found, even when things are at their absolute worst. I didn’t think this took away from the tragedy and seriousness of the situation at all, rather, it enhanced it.
Of course not every thing is historically accurate, but that doesn’t take away from the message of this series, nor the story telling from the excellent cast and direction. Highly recommend.
