Like many viewers mentioned, this is such a beautiful story. I just would like to answer a question one person mentioned: “theres this little confusion that I have, why was the detective after Jun-ha, why was he so adamant about releasing him, was there some personal vendetta?” A great catch. In 1970s South Korea, democratic protests were common against their authoritarian government. The husband was a newspaper reporter, and he mentioned he was occupied by an article he was writing recently. I guess the government didn’t like his writing so kept him behind bars. The South Koreans earned their democracy and the freedom of speech very hard by that generation’s blood and hardship.
So many lessons and tears about life in this heartfelt story.
