Good cast, good special effects, good director...so what went wrong? Weak script & story. The Thing is a monster that is not explained at all. How does it infect it's hosts? How can it be killed? The audience is never told, and this ruined any suspense for me. I was left with too many unanswered questions, and plenty of confusion. "Alien" left this movie in the dust three years earlier in 1979.
