Expectations were dashed when we saw this slow, turgid and offensive effort at re-writing Dickens masterpiece A Christmas Carol.
Didn't the writer know that this was originally a story for children ?
Dickens must be turning in his grave with the pointless urinating on
Scrooge's tombstone , the constant 'f' word thrown in regularly for no good reason, Mrs Cratchet's ravishing by Scrooge etc etc - it didn't even hold the attention , it was so slow and depressing.
Why on earth didn't this version get another title ? or at least , let the
action take place in the present as there were so many anachronisms and politically correct scenes. It was about as Victorian as a cheap plastic toy so why spend so much time and effort on the 19th century props and scenery ?
