Not exactly iconic, but I remember really enjoying it when it was released (in my youth, btw — 😄). Donohoe is especially memorable, and alluring even to a young gay man. I need to watch it again to confirm my memories, but it is decidedly NOT a waste of time.
Of course some are Ken Russell fans and some aren’t, somehow. But “Women in Love” and “Altered States” alone are enough to get me on board the Russell train.
