A great film !! I was really intrigued all throughout the film. I don't understand why it has such a low rating. I will try to clarify some of this film's criticisms(they honestly seem like hate though). 1) Many people say that by showing that the first priest is fake, it's insulting the hindu religion. But it's not true at all. It's just showing the reality. The reality being that many actually fake priests exploit the hindu religion for their own gains and harm many people(a lot of the times women because of misogyny). And then later they do show an authentic priest who knows his job. The movie is showing that both types of people exist. It's not insulting the religion but the disgusting people that exploit it and manipulate other people. 2) "Showing that muslims are good and Hindus are bad." Again that's not true. Muslims are already portrayed negatively in sooooo many indians movies even though they get discriminated a lot in india(and the whole world but that's another topic). Muslims are the minority in india and hindus are the majority. It's not a problem when the majority is sometimes shown in the negative side because the majority usually discriminate against the minority. But the minority need good representation otherwise they will get more hate and get ostracized by society even more. But the majority will be fine. And Laxmii herself is hindu too. 3)"The comedy is bad." Now this is a criticism that I accept. The comedy definitely could have been better(at least for me because my mom laughed in many instances. So, if your sense of humour is the same as her, you will enjoy the comedy too). This is a valid critic but the comedy isn't a huge part of the movie, so the entire movie cannot be hated for the comedy. I think instead of trying to be funny in the scary scenes, they should have taken them seriously since they couldn't make it funny(again, for me but my mom laughed a lot). The first scary scene was actually scary because they took it seriously without any unfunny gags. 4)"The songs are bad". Agreed. I could only tolerate bambholle and even that's mostly because of Laxmii lol. Again, just like comedy, it's not a big part of the movie so it's not that big of a deal. •Another critic that I didn't see people talk about that much but I personally have is that I wish kiara's character was actually useful. In fact, the mil and sil were more useful and had more impact in the story lol. Anyways, even with some tiny faults it's still an amazing movie with great acting from the characters that matter. The story is very compelling and has great message(s). I highly recommend watching it !! Many many thanks to the people in the making of this incredible film ! <33333 This movie deserved sooo much better and I hope Akshay Kumar & Sharad Kelkar do more unconventional but great roles like this !!
